On a day when most folks are involved in trick-or-treating, Redeemer students, in between morning classes, gathered to munch on a Canadian staple: Timbits. Surrounded by large platters of the miniature doughnuts, Dr. Krygsman announced that a new Tim Hortons franchise will be constructed on campus, replacing the current William鈥檚 Fresh Cafe.

The same products and promotions that Canadians know and love鈥攄oughnuts, coffee, iced cappuccinos, a full breakfast menu and even the Roll up the Rim to Win contest鈥攚ill be available.

William鈥檚, which has been operating on campus for the last decade, will be closing in mid-November. In its place, a new storefront will be built over the following six to eight weeks.

The new Tim Hortons coffee shop will be an institutionally owned and operated franchise, in partnership with Redeemer鈥檚 current food-service partner, Sodexo Canada.

Tim Hortons fare will聽be integrated into the student meal plan and the RUC Express cards of students, faculty and staff. The campus coffee shop, like its predecessor, will also provide ample opportunity for student employment.

In the meantime, we聽apologize for any inconvenience the renovation will cause. During the renovation period, ReFresh鈥攐ur cafeteria vendor鈥攚ill offer coffee, smoothies and a variety of other William鈥檚 items.
