We were saddened by the news of the death of Leila Vos (n茅e Salzer) who passed on August 20 following a short battle with cancer.

Leila spent her final days living, loving and laughing with family and friends. She comforted them, reminding them if God would call her home, she was ready to go.

Leila Vos.

Leila leaves behind her husband, Martyn, parents Catherine and Eric Salzer, grandmother Iris Salzer, sisters Emily (Eric) and Beth-Anne (Dominic), parents-in-law Willem and Tineke Vos, brothers-in-law: Arjan 鈥96 (Sheri); Wilfred 鈥95 (Jenny Lynn); and Jerome 鈥02 (Lisa).

Leila came to Redeemer from Jarvis and attended from 1997 to 2001. She was known as a cheerful student worker in the Student Life office. Leila had served since 2013 as the administrative assistant for the Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Acton, which has been her and Martyn鈥檚 home community and church since 2009.

One of Leila鈥檚 favourite Bible verses was Isaiah 40:31: 鈥淏ut those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.鈥
