I鈥檝e noticed a little trend that Redeemer students go through every year. Right around this time at the
end of January and beginning of February, a mad hussle begins as we make plans for the coming school
year, the coming summer season, housing applications, campus jobs, you name it. It鈥檚 a time of fresh
excitement and anticipation for what鈥檚 to come. It can also be hard.
It鈥檚 hard because it鈥檚 an unknown. Every crossroad we come towards along our way is another
reminder that we are not in control. And that can be jarring and heavy.
But it鈥檚 also an opportunity for reflection and growth. In Eugene Peterson鈥檚 paraphrase of Matthew 6, it
says, 鈥淕ive your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don鈥檛 get worked up about what
may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the
time comes鈥 (v. 34).
That鈥檚 a promise we can have faith in: the Lord of the universe has tomorrow in your hands, so that you
now have the opportunity to enjoy today.
