Ninety-nine contenders鈥33 teams of three鈥攆rom 23 post-secondary programs competed at the CPA Ontario offices in Toronto. Kevin Rowaan, another honours accounting student and Redeemer鈥檚 representative on the CPA Board of Ambassadors, organized Redeemer鈥檚 participation in the competition. CPA Challenge competitors were encouraged to use CPA skills, such as communications, teamwork, leadership, negotiation and time management. But there were many other benefits for the students as well. 鈥淭he CPA Challenge fits right in with my program. It was a great opportunity to meet other students with the same career plans and especially professionals with experiences I can learn from. It was a lot of fun!鈥 said Wouda, who plans to pursue CPA designation post-graduation. York University took home first place, and McMaster University took second.
