The Culture Makers video series profiles these alumni. Since fall 2013, the Redeemer community has been celebrating alumni who are striving to enrich culture by making more of it. The Culture Makers video series profiles graduates who are acting as culture creators and cultivators in their various spheres of work.
Scroll through the and you鈥檒l see interviews with alumni who are shaping culture in business, politics, the arts, social services, the church and education. Each video is a snapshot of flourishing. In 2015, we interviewed 鈥10, who is preparing the way for others in Indigenous education as a policy analyst at the Ministry of Indigenous Affairs and Northern Development. We filmed a video with 鈥05, too. As a conservation specialist, he helps cities and municipalities adapt to climate change. In 2013, we shared the story of ’01, who creates affordable housing for people with disabilities as director of projects and development at Indwell.

鈥淭hat鈥檚 a wrap!鈥 shouted Scott Trapasso, creative director at video production company . It marked the end of two days of filming with more than 20 Redeemer student athletes.
Trapasso and his team, armed with a camera that records nine times more pixels than HD, captured the footage for three brand new Redeemer athletic videos.

The video series highlight what it means to be a Royal. Two videos follow students Travis Feddema and Jocelyn Klompmaker, as they provide a real look at the balance between academic and athletic excellence. In the third video, quick, high energy clips get the viewer鈥檚 heart pounding.
Feddema is an education student, and this year鈥檚 indoor soccer most valuable player. He鈥檚 learning on the field and in the classroom. 鈥淚鈥檝e come to learn that all things are an act of worship,鈥 he says, 鈥渢hat God takes pleasure when I compete, when I鈥檓 in class, when I train, study or find the back of the net. Together, they teach, shape and challenge my mind, body and heart.鈥
Klompmaker is a health sciences major, an athlete on the women鈥檚 volleyball team and an OCAA All-Academic. She works out early, and studies late, from the gym to library, from library to weight room, from game film to textbooks. 鈥淭he best part is I don鈥檛 just do it for me,鈥 she says, 鈥淚 don鈥檛 just do it for my teammates or because it will look good on a resum茅. I do it for God, because if I鈥檓 doing it for him, I鈥檓 doing it with all my heart.鈥
