A kinesiology and physical education internship provides students with an opportunity to obtain direct experiences and exposure to some aspects of their area of study outside the classroom. Internships may be done in a variety of areas dealing with physical education, sport or recreation such as physiotherapy/occupational clinics, special population clinics or programs, motor performance lab, research, coaching, sport management/administration or marketing, recreation, sport/exercise, or health promotion or work with a registered kinesiologist. The purpose of the internship is to assist students in making career decisions and to prepare them for post-graduate educational and employment opportunities.
